Suicide Squad Oscars?!

I don't watch the Oscars, never have. I don't really care about the outcomes, the fashion or the pre-mediated random drama that haunts news outlets for days or weeks after.

Look, if a film gets an Oscar, that's great. I'll watch it if I want to, not because of that. If an actor gets an Oscar, well, whoopie. They better be worth it. Obviously you can trust those little statues as far as you can throw - wait, how heavy are Oscars?

After a quick Google I have determined that they are 8 1/2 pounds, or if you like to weigh things in real measurements they are: 3.8 kilos.
So, probably not the best analogy. My point is, damn, it took that long to give Leo a damn Oscar so clearly something's screwy over at their judging area.

Finally, I am the chosen one!

Injustice - Ground Zero ch 11 Review

Opening up with Harley in her getaway present Batmobile with Shazam in the passenger seat, harassing Oracle/Batgirl/Barbara Gordon. That Fwunk sound is not Harley's questionable driving skills (we've all seen the animated series!) but rather Black Adam landing on the car, in search of Batman and finding our favourite jester instead.

They exchange pleasantries before Black Adam declares he doesn't like Harley, and attacks.

I like this little dialogue. Everyone else in this comic who uses the pills only really discusses their use in combat, or how much stock they have. Harley tells us just how much they mean to her - it's not the power as such - but more the confidence boost. Which probably explains why this Harley is so much more awesome than her other incarnations, as well as being a hell of a lot more relatable/likeable.

Meanwhile, back at Wayne Manor the super friends are discussing their battle - which apparently ended in between scenes?
The Green Arrow in this series is also hilarious.

I think I've mentioned before how awesome I think the Harley Quinn is in the Injustice comic series.
I think I've mentioned before how I don't understand how other series (namely her own and Suicide Squad) can't get her right.

Anyway, this issue picks up where the last one left off (obviously) with Harley narrating her own story alongside what Batman was doing.
Batman was taking a bunch of alternate universe version of Wonder Woman, Green Arrow etc. off to Wayne Manor to find a super friends weapon, which of course Harley has beaten them all to in getting to the location where it's housed.

Classic Quinn comedy - dramatic entry, Silence of the Lambs reference, parking joke, and a gaming pun - while kidnapping Shazam.

Ugliest Harley Quinn Merchandise

The museum quality Harley Quinn statue originally bought criticism because her face wasn't pretty enough.
This is kind of true, it's not her usual beautiful look. That said -  I love this statue. She doesn't always have to be categorically beautiful. She's clearly come from a fight with Batman or some kind of scuffle, so she's wearing a sort of snarl. I personally feel it works well with her pose. It makes for a unique, dramatic statue.

Is it the ugliest Harley Quinn (statue) ever though? No, I don't think so. Here are some of my contenders for that top (?) spot!

BTAS: Harley Quinn is Waiting for her man!

Batman: The Animated Series

"Waiting for My J Man" Harley Quinn Statue

So back in 2015 there was a 7" vinyl release of the Batman animated series theme song.
We were looking at getting one. We don't actually own our own LP player (my folks do though!)
I guess it was more for the random factor, classic Harley Quinn and the uniqueness of it all.

This may have backfired though. Mondo sold out like straight away. Which, like I suspected was probably not even purchased by actual fans, but more like people who anticipated making millions of money off of the eBay's.

I think you can actually buy more now but they're still pretty damn expensive even if it's a sale direct from manufacturer.

As you can see from the picture above, we now have a statue of the image on the LP cover.
I'll be frank, it looks amazing.

Harley Quinn's sexuality

Harley Quinn - BISEXUAL?

I'll be honest - at first I thought the Volume 2 Harley Series would be great. I didn't mind the first few issues - but I wasn't as keen on them as her original Volume 1 run. I quickly lost interest though.
The art was sporadic, Harley wasn't actually funny OR interesting enough to be the main character, she has ten tonnes of adoring followers in this series - but they're all pretty much two bit stereotypes, Harley's over the top accent is actually not the epitome of humour that the writer seems to think it is, they changed canon by making Harley officially bisexual and inserted a really weird 2D Poison Ivy into their cast..

Stop making making out creepy DC.

I mean, yeah I know a lot of fans were mad on making them a thing which I always thought was stupid. Now people get shirty if you talk about it - that if you're anti bisexual Harley and Ivy, then you must be a homophobic jerk.
WELL ACTUALLY - some people just don't think that Harley has to be in a relationship non-stop. What Harley and Ivy had in their original forms was a realistic big-sister sort of relationship, they were friends. How many super villains actually have friends? It was unique and loveable.

Which is amazing because Poison Ivy shuns almost all human contact and has little patience for the human traits Harley has - like falling in love and other complications that come from caring for people. Harley - I do think she really could be bisexual because she's the kind of loving person that would fall for anyone regardless of gender. We've already seen Ivy in mainstream comics as bisexual.. but a bit on the plant kink side..

That being said - Poison Ivy is not an ideal candidate. As much as people want to romanticise their relationship the fact is that she is up there with the Joker on people you really shouldn't woo.
She's a seductress, and she kills people. Men, women... she'll chuck them all in her plant petri dish to get off. She doesn't care. She seduces to get to her goal. More than that.. she doesn't like people.

As well as that, pretty much any version of Harley Quinn you find will still be hanging around stronger, more dominant personalities and fan-girling around them. This happened a lot in Volume 2 where she just harasses and stalks Power Girl, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, Zatanna... you name it.
