Studio Fow - Harley Quinn porn parody

For those not familiar - Studio Fow is a animated porn company set up around 2014. Most if not all, of their content is based off gaming characters, and their aim is to be as non-vanilla as possible.

Pretty sure they take the actual characters from games and just re-rig their models. I don't know about the scenery/backgrounds - but probably.

SCARLET NIGHTS
RELEASE DATE: JUNE 28TH, 2016

It’s complete anarchy in Gotham as StudioFOW launches its depraved new series! Without the Dark Knight around there’s a distinct lack of fear around the city, but as the Clown Princess of Crime is about to discover, there are far more terrifying things lurking in Gotham’s seedy underbelly. Lesson one of this new Gotham is don’t piss off the wrong guys…

I gotta say, I approve of the title. You know, it could have been really tacky, like 'One Knight in Harley' or something lame like that.

I don't approve of the title 'porn parody' though. It's like, yes, you can say it's a parody to get away with mocking someone/a character/a concept etc... but parody implies the content should be FUNNY.
So far the only successful porn parody I've seen has been the Axel Braun one I reviewed earlier because it legitimately bought me to laughter.

You could compare the concept to something like 'Vampires Suck' or 'Scary Movie' or 'Not Another Teenage Movie' where they're actively making fun of the genre of certain films and using characters based on the stereotypes if not their likenesses... not all of the jokes land but you can consider it a parody.

Here it's like... can you just use "non-canon" instead of "parody" ?
This disclaimer is one of the funniest thing in the whole video.

Anyway, let's have a look.

Okay, generic gravelly voiced man asking me if I'm sure this is what I want to see.... we're a minute in, dude. Get over yourself. You're not even Batman!

So.. this is weird. Black Mask has captured Harley and is threatening Joker - who is quite ill as we know.. because he died in Arkham City. Harley is wearing her Arkham Knight costume, and is quite aware that Joker died, and had been being impersonated by Clayface for a good chunk of the game.

A bit later we see Barbara Gordon and Commissioner Gordon talking about Batman abandoning them... so... is this meant to slot in around the 'Harley Quinn's Revenge DLC' or something?
Even then, Harley knew what happened to Joker, that was the whole point of her revenge. Like... heeehhhh? Whut?

Also... sweet merciful gravy there are times when we do not need to see every pore on Commisioner Gordon's face.. and this is one of them. Plus, what's Barbara's hair made out of... clay? Harley's hair looks fine. Is this discrimination against rangas? Or we just don't care about them if they're not the star of the show?

That's what this is, a show! Black Mask is filming a non consensual p0rn0. This part gets even stupider when they keep knocking her out, drugging her and then complaining that she took too long to wake up so they're behind schedule. THEN WHY DID YOU DRUG HER YOU NONCE.

Also, they named all the cameras 'clown cam?' If you're gonna name your cameras, at least do it properly with a small hint that you actually enjoy your job.
Plus - is this what Gotham has come to? Didn't villains kill people who screwed them over? Now we're doing revenge p0rn/r@pe? Black Mask never was the best villain, aaaand this isn't helping his image one little bit.

One thing I did like in this scene was where Harley switches to something similar to Detective Vision a'la Batman.

Then things go downhill faster than usual because this whole thing is just a r@pe p0rno with animals.
Yeaaaah... it's just not my cup of tea. Well, if I'm being honest, cups of tea are my cups of tea, but my point stands that this whole video did nothing for me, because I personally enjoy screwing humans instead of screwing the pooch - so to speak.

Pictured: Not a good boy.

Hell, I can think of several opportunities missed here that would have been marginally better. Poison Ivy and Harley together. Hyenas? No less disgusting, but more on the marketing. Harley and Joker?
Harley and Batman? Harley and miscellaneous villain that's not Deadshot. Circus themed stripper party, Joker gang tryouts... heck, I don't know! That's without even thinking 'hard' about it.*

At the end of the day - I get that they were trying to do something different but a twenty minute video on literal doggy-style? What am I supposed to do with this? Does ANYONE want this?

Anyway, also had some pros and cons apart from the obvious. Harley's voice actor was really good - sounded just like Tara Strong, which is kinda creepy but okaaaay. The shots of Gotham were amazing - but also, probably not made by these guys. Title name and graphics - good. Harley's model looked okay - the greasepaint definitely didn't need any close-ups though - yikes. That's why they call it paint, I guess.

I don't know if this is a pro OR a con but it was disturbing how game accurate all the nameless thugs were when calling Harley a multitude of slurs. Let me re-phrase that - is it good that the video is game accurate about a bunch of jerks being jerks, or bad that it either perpetuates the idea and/or bad that it may not have even been TRYING to be game accurate?

I get the notion that they're trying to be both bad ass and make some kind of background atmosphere, but I personally found it really grating that a bunch of cowards behind masks spend all the time in this video calling Harley names for being disgusting with what she's doing.... but then they're the ones actually forcing her to do it? Black Mask needs a less stunted crew, that's a fact and a half.

The only good thing out of that bit is that Harley eventually yells 'Hey!' back at them, which is kinda funny in a sad way, but very character accurate.

"Mr. Mask? I don't feel so good."
Joker appears with a bag over his head then in the next frame it's gone. I don't know if this is meant to
be a nod to him not actually being the Joker or what but it looked sloppy. Matter of fact, I mistook Clayface for Killer Croc and wondered why Black Mask was calling him by his name and asking for Waylon. I've also been reading DC for years, so, uh, I don't think I have any issues identifying a walking lump of clay except for right here.

Cameos galore are crammed in here - apart from Barbara looking through her old mask, we have Catwoman staring at some strung up dork, a very naked and extremely male-gazy Poison Ivy, ("MMmm, I've just awoken from a plant coma to find out my lesbian lover has been kidnapped, let me touch my butt and lick my lips") Azrael - who apparently just watched the whole darn thing and did nothing until the very end, and even then only the bare minimum? That level of injustice does not appear comic accurate at all! So they're probably trying to make this into a series or at least squeeze a sequel out of it.

"I like to watch crimes being committed. #justice!"

Short End of the Jester Schtick

This - I did not care for. If you're into it, go nuts (and for the love of God, don't adopt any pets!) otherwise stick to the games - the women are sexier and more interesting in there.
I mean seriously... Harley not being able to take down a freakin' C-lister like Black Mask? She's done worse to other people who even just talked about threatening her or Joker.
Ridiculously un-canon.

Notta Comedian!

Harley: No! You'll ruin his beautiful face!

Harley: This crap just ain't funny anymore.

Harley: I ain't diddlin' 'em. What are ya, crazy?

Thug 1: Ya f**ckin' Wh0re.
Thug 2: Ya dumb c**t
Harley: Hey!

Thug 3: You know what they say, Jimmy. Never stick your d1ck in crazy.
Thug 4: Ain't seen shit like this since Arkham!

Thug 5: Not exactly the night shift at Ace Chemicals, eh?

*Everything sounds dirty. Also, don't steal my ideas without giving me a cut.

  1. Hate being that guy, but why can't you just use Black Mask's goons, or rogue Joker goons, or vigilante cops like a normal (Well, as normal and well adjusted as the kind of people who like that kind of stuff...) person?

    Who is this marketed for?

    ...

You know what, i don't even wanna know the people this is marketed for.
