I think I've mentioned before how awesome I think the Harley Quinn is in the Injustice comic series.
I think I've mentioned before how I don't understand how other series (namely her own and Suicide Squad) can't get her right.
Anyway, this issue picks up where the last one left off (obviously) with Harley narrating her own story alongside what Batman was doing.
Batman was taking a bunch of alternate universe version of Wonder Woman, Green Arrow etc. off to Wayne Manor to find a super friends weapon, which of course Harley has beaten them all to in getting to the location where it's housed.
Classic Quinn comedy - dramatic entry, Silence of the Lambs reference, parking joke, and a gaming pun - while kidnapping Shazam.
I don't know what I like more, the look of panic on the goon's faces when they see the map, or seeing the map itself - complete with gaming pun and obligatory 'Die Batsy' graffiti.
Batman was right - criminals are a cowardly, superstitious lot - and they fear actual bats in caves, and Manbats too. Harley of course is unconcerned as ever.
Batman in his own story though, is still being hampered by the arrival of Killer Frost and Solomon Grundy.
Harley meanwhile has found what she's after - a Batmobile! Before she can heist it though, a knock off Nightwing (Damian) appears and throws a spanner in the works. Or a glow stick. Whatever.
Harley isn't phased, and jumps from jokes to flat out messing with her opponent's mind, taunting them into angry attacks. He wails on her henchmen, so she wails on him with a lot more success.
Sadly, Harley ditches her henchmen in favour of peeling out with her captive Shazzy in the Batmobile.
Poor Jerry/Terry and the rest of the boys.
THE GOOD!
Harley is hilarious and knows what she's doing even if it looks like she's just making it up as she goes along.
In following with her original comic, she's a surprisingly good leader
She is a joy to read.
Also, not one single 'Holeeeeeesomethingorotherus' - Whoopee! Because like Pavlov's dog, I have begun to retch whenever I hear that particular dinner bell.
THE BAD!
It's been a while so I've pretty much forgotten what Batman's current story line was. It's not that much of an imposition though as the comic makes it easy to recap. I feel like these issues need to be longer though - fight scenes seem skipped over for example and there doesn't seem to be enough time for both sides of the story.
THE UGLY!
Oh, Harley! You've been a down trodden hench person before! How could you abandon your boys!
THE VERDICT!
Definitely a fun little story - there's enough going on to keep you entertained, as well as enough jokes and references to keep it light and fun in the midst of an all out war with Superman.
