DC Collectables Harley Quinn Red, White and Black Statue by Guillem March

So this DC Collectables Harley Quinn Red, White and Black Statue by Guillem March popped up in my emails today. I admit, when I saw it I was like oh no! Not another one!

Honestly, sometimes I think DC is staying afloat on Harley Quinn merchandise alone - which is probably why there seem to be more Red, White and Black collectables for Harley then there are Black and Whites for Batman. Or... you know.. any other character they have in their arsenal.

It sucks because we're seriously cutting down on the Harley Quinn merch. If it's not something extremely awesome or something we've been chasing down since the early 2000's then we aren't going to be bothered.

Anyway, this statue seems pretty cool. Let's check it out.

Crafted from the artwork of Guillem March, a multifaceted artist who has produced multiple covers for Harley Quinn comics, the newest entry in the HARLEY QUINN RED, WHITE & BLACK statue line brings a playful, minimalist-tone to the Maid of Mischief. Yet with the detailed design and splashes of color, this figure remains unmistakably Harley.

Outfitted in a traditional school uniform-complete with argyle socks-and equipped with her trademark over size mallet, this carefully crafted polyresin statue is limited to 5,000 pieces.

• Limited to 5,000 pieces
• Figure measures 6.76" tall

Going for about US $79.99 and is expected to ship out 24th April 2019.

At first I was like - why are they going for the stripping school girl pose? Did they run out of roller derby outfits or baseball poses? Is there no possible way she could do something..oh, I don't know... jesterey? Not really a word but meh don't care.

Then I was like, hang on, Guillem March? As in Gotham City Sirens? *record skip sound effect*

Right, so it's THAT school girl ensemble, with her new corset/roller derby/Suicide Squad/whatever underneath the shirt for some reason, and Classic Harley Quinn's face on the mallet.

What an absolute mish mash of classic cartoon, contemporary Sirens and convoluted new crap.

So the other differences is the skirt is now plan instead of tartan, she's got dip dyed hair and a few diamond tattoos on her thigh.
Guillem is now the lead cover artist on Hardly Quinn's solo run and has done several variant covers for other comics.

This one terrifies me

This one's better but a bit garish

That's so much better!

So all in all it's a nice statue and one I may consider getting. While I'm digging her cute face and awesome socks, I'm not really a fan of the corset underneath, it reminds me too much of the DC Covergirls edition of New52 Harley where she was grinding up her classic costume. I can't go through that pain again! Not to mention, why would you even wear something that colourful under a white blouse? I think it would have been nicer if they kept the embroidered 'H' on her shirt that she had in Gotham City Sirens.

Maybe they're going for a Clark Kent/Superman joke? I guess that Gotham City Sirens was technically the last canon time we had a Harley who COULD disguise herself amongst the general populace. The one we have now is either waaaay too arrogant for that or waaaay too pale.

I am glad that if they had to give her tattoos that they were at least keeping with her classic theme and not horrible gang-banger ones like we've seen.... elsewhere
