Harley Quinn New 52 Bishoujo Statue

HARLEY QUINN NEW 52 BISHOUJO STATUE

Harley Quinn has made another appearance in the Bishoujo (read: pretty girl) statue collection only this time she's in her New 52 digs.
Original is on the left up top, while the one on the right is the NY Comic-Con variant.
Pretty much the same statue apart from a few small tweaks.

Obviously the colour scheme is different, the weapons are different and the bases are distinct but I think the biggest change is really the face. The variant has Harley's original Suicide Squad emo-make-up bath and a bit of a creepy sneer while the original is softer, and going for a more Bishoujo look, I guess.

Although I still hate alternate red and blue eye make-up. As well as it not being the right colours for a Harley Quinn, DC pretty much gave one of the most widely recognised victims of abusive relationships eyes that look like bruises in various stages of healing. A plus plus guys.

Harley Quinn New 52 Ver. stands nearly 9 inches tall (1/7 scale) and seems to go for about $75USD. My issue with this figure is that the shoes look weird. I mean, wearing black pumps with thermal multi-coloured stockings? That honestly seems like something that *I* would do! Which of course, doesn't make it right. Still, she had ugly weirdo boots in the original Suicide Squad comic run. That and, I'm not sure if it's the way she's standing or if her corset is super restrictive but she sort of seems to 'pear' out around the hips. Which is fine, it looks more realistic than Jim Lee's painfully skinny HQ busts but her thighs have the same problem - how tight is her outfit? Also I feel they should have switched the sides the holsters were on. And it's New 52. I'm just really compelled to throw this out there because even though this is a kinda cool statue, it still gets points taken off for that!

I think the original Bishoujo's figure's biggest weakness was the face. The un-masked version doesn't even seem to focus on what she's licking her lips at. Everything else is great though, the little ribbons in the hair are cute as all heck and they put a lot of detail into her pom poms.
