September Villains in 3D.. kind of.

So, had an update from one of my interstate comic stores - apologising for DC failing to anticipate the demand for the 3D motion covers due in Villain's month September, as well as production issues.

Oh look, there's about five women hiding in this picture.

Funny, every other news update I've seen has been DC eagerly promoting the heck out of the covers like it's the '90's all over again, the others fan sites bemoaning price increases due to said production issues, especially when most covers seem to feature outstanding cut 'n' paste techniques.

My guess is that DC is trying to generate hype - now that not every Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman can get a hold of a 'special' copy, stores can charge more for the ones they do have and talk of this will dominate news feed for a while.

Yay.

Meanwhile, I don't really care because THIS is the Harley Quinn cover.

Are your eyes bleeding too?

Alright, here we go..

  1. Do they actually pay someone to draw like that? Did someone just give up on life as well as proportions and what real people - heck, even super super model cartoon women look like? Bloody hell.
  2. I can't decide what's worse... Harley's everything or Batman's groin giving me evils.
  3. Harley's face. I've seen better mugs in china shops AFTER the proverbial bull attacks. Then again, she might not be going for 'sexy villain' but rather 'grimacing in pain because her pathetic knee caps can't hold her giant knockers (both mallet and bosomy) up!
  4. Everyone has already seen the covers in 2D and 3D glory on the internets. To make things rare, they must be limited, quality and WANTED.
  5. DC trying to make collectible comics yet taking away collectible statue's collectible status and details.

THIS is a woman's figure, boys..

DC's mucho-hyped 'Villains Month' will see the bad guys taking over every major DC Comics title for the month of September, with some titles seeing weekly releases. The whole event was supposed to feature some snazzy 3D motion covers for each issue, but it looks like that won't be case.

Thanks to DC severely underestimating the demand for these covers, and the longer-than-usual process involved in producing the covers, every comic book store out there will be allocated stock.

That means we won't be able to supply the 3D motion covers to everyone. DC will be releasing standard cover editions on the same week of release, and these will still count as first printings.
